HARSH, Emily HudsonOf Sewanee and Nashville, TN, passed away March 31, 2010, after a brief illness. Emily was an administrator in intercollegiate athletics. She was the first, and now only Women's Athletic Director at Vanderbilt University. Emily was a graduate of Hillsboro High School, attended Vanderbilt University, and graduated from Belmont University. She earned her MBA from The Jack C Massey School of Business. Emily considered having tea with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip aboard the royal yacht, The Britannia, and being chosen Class Speaker for the MBA graduation dinner as memorable highlights in her life. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church and of Hillwood Country Club and their women's tennis league. Emily was the daughter of the late Dorothy Hamilton and Marcellus George Harsh. She is survived by her sisters, Ann Harsh Linebaugh, Courtney Harsh (Don) Wolfe; her brother, Marcellus George (Eleanor) Harsh, Jr.; three nieces, three nephews, four great-nieces and six great-nephews. Emily was a beautiful, elegant, southern lady; she will long be remembered and missed by family and friends. She was one of a kind, unlike any other. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Alive Hospice at St. Thomas and Hospice Compassus of Tullahoma, TN for their loving care.
