Janelle Leigh Fann, age 36 passed away suddenly from an illness in the early month of November 2018, in Queens, New York. In her professional life she was the Project Manager on the Advisory Support Team at Student Achievement Partners. Prior to that she was the Team Coordinator at America Achieves. She purposely chose to work for non-for-profits because she felt that they did far more in helping those in our society that needed help the most. Janelle is a proud alum of Tennessee State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in English. She continued with her education by graduating from Belmont University with a master's degree in English. Janelle loved books and believed the places that housed them were sanctuaries to be respected. She loved the written word whose stories can transport its reader to different places introducing you to different people, cultures and lands. There are many adventures to be had but none so special as the ones that you experience for yourself. Janelle's entire life had been an adventure, but her joining the Peace Corps and serving in Rwanda was an adventure in self awakening. As a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, she realized that the only limitations are the ones that you set for yourself and that goats were truly majestic animals. When you are as remarkable as Janelle, no obstacle and no one can ever hold you back. She leaves behind family, friends and co-workers that were privileged to see the brilliance that came from her, a brilliance so natural as a quote from one of the thousands of books that she read. We loved her, more than she would have ever imagined and we all believed that we would have her and her puns for all the rest of our lives. We sadly say farewell to one that we held most dear that found unconditional love, support and acceptance in what would be the latter part of her life and she will be profoundly missed. To honor Janelle's Life and remember her, consider borrowing and reading a book from your local public library.
