Norma Jo Amacher, Class of 1959, Passes Away

Norma Jo Mason Benz Amacher

Age 80, passed away on September 27, 2016
Born in Nashville, Norma grew up in Estill Springs, TN. She graduated from Franklin County High School where she was a cheerleader, class attendant, and homecoming queen. After high school, she attended Belmont College where she was May Queen and received her Bachelor of Music degree in 1958. It was there that she met her husband, Jack Benz, and raised two daughters in Hendersonville. Later, she married Martin
 Amacher who was a classmate at Franklin County High School and lived in Winchester. 

She had a great love of music and was soloist and music director at Inglewood United Methodist Church for 30 years as well as teaching piano and voice lessons for over 50 years. She was a very talented artist and loved painting, especially portraits. She was a member of Bluegrass Country Club and an avid golfer. Her greatest love was for her family. Her house was always filled with music, love and contagious laughter that came from her always cheerful disposition.
She is preceded in death by Martin Amacher, parents John and Vivian Mason, and brothers John Allen Mason Jr., and David Clinton Mason. She is survived by her daughters Penney (Bob)Jones and Kelley Benz (Lori Gross).

Visitation will be at 11:30 and the service will be at 2:30 pm on Friday, September 30 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, TN.
