Don went to be with the Lord April 15, 2010. Don lived a full life. He was in the Ministry for fifty five years, fifteen of which he was Director of Missions for Bartow County.Upon retiring he went back to Pastoring for ten years. Don also taught the total of 193 subjects for The Georgia Baptist Continuing Education program . He is greatly missed.
I graduated from Belmont in 1957; Don and I were good friends. I did not know about his death, and I am sad for it. I can see him in my mind's eye like it was yesterday that we shared classes and friendship on the Belmont campus. There is something about Belmont that writes itself on your heart. I am grateful for the long and full ministry of Don Hazel. Even an obituary can never diminish the fact that Belmont friends live on in our hearts and love and in the grace and peace of God. Blessings on your family in this sad time! G. Byrns Coleman, Professor of Religion, Wingate University, Wingate, North Carolina.
