After a valiant fight against devastating Leukemia, Jennifer Wilhite Grissom of Nashville, departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father on November 10, 2015. Jennifer was a graduate of Mountain Brook High School in Alabama, and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Jennifer grew up as an avid ice skater, and played Ladies Amateur Hockey. Her love of sports led her to take up the game of golf upon her retirement, and she was a member of the Richland Ladies Golf Association. She was a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree, and was the recipient of many Honors including the President's and Dean's List Scholar, President of the Pinnacle Honor Society, was a member of the Beta Beta Beta Biology Honor Society, and recipient of the Lucille Peak Wardin Award for The Outstanding Female Student. She was also a Representative to the Student Government Association. She was a Poinsettia Debutante in Birmingham, and a member of The Junior League of Nashville. Jennifer was a fourteenth generation American, and a descendent of the 1717 Germanna Colony of Virginia. Jennifer spent a career in the pharmaceutical industry, receiving many awards, and during which she established warm friendships with physicians and nurses across middle Tennessee, all of whom have been a vital part of her life. Her deep love of her family and friends was closely followed by a special love of all animals. She was a Past President and Board Member of the Friends of the Nashville Humane Association. Jennifer was the loving wife of Dr. Larry Grissom, and is survived by him and her loving and caring parents, Dr. and Mrs. Wilson C. Wilhite, Jr. (Pat) of Daphne, Alabama; and a devoted sister, Tiffany Patrice Wilhite, of Birmingham; each of whom was proud of the love and devotion she gave to them. She is also survived by her Mother-in-Law, Sara Grissom; and step-children, Rachel and Ryan Grissom; and her beloved King Charles Spaniel, Gracie. The family wishes to express a deep and sincere appreciation to the Nurses, Physicians, and Staff of Sarah Cannon Cancer Center for their outstanding and compassionate care provided to Jennifer. Special appreciation is offered to her personal physician, Dr. Hyatt Sutton. The family also extends a special thanks to the multitude of her friends, who provided love and support during her battle.
