Cynthia Catherine Roland of Nashville, TN passed away on January 24, 2015 at the age of 54. Cindy was a graduate of Father Ryan High School. She attended the University of Tennessee and graduated from Belmont University where she majored in Philosophy.
For ten years, Cindy was employed as a news reporter for The Tennessean under the leadership of John Seigenthaler. She spent many of the past few years working on her unpublished novel, "A Carnival of Peculiarities." An ardent animal lover, she was devoted to her loyal schnauzer "Scooter." Cindy will be remembered for her charm and quirky smile, a cutting sense of humor and an uncommon flair for style and art. She will be missed dearly.
Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles & Kathryn Gambill, Frank Sr. & Rosie Elizabeth Roland; brother, Charles Michael Roland and nephew, Ben Todd. Survived by loving parents, Frank & Nancy Roland; brother, Pat Roland; sisters, Tanya (Andrew) Todd and Lisa Redmon; aunt, Madeline Harris; a niece and 6 nephews.
Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at St. Edward Catholic Church, by Father Mark J. Nolte and The Rev. Joseph Patrick Breen. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was held at Woodbine Funeral Home, on January 27, 2015, and January 28, 2015 at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Edward Tuition Assistance Fund.
