David W. Moore of Columbia, Mo., passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the age of 67. David was born on March 8, 1947, in Columbia, Mo., to Hubert and Amy West Moore, and they preceded him in death. He was married to Lucy Cox Moore, and she survives.
David graduated from Hickman High School in 1965 and attended the University of Missouri. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in sales and marketing during his lifetime until his retirement in 2008. David was an athlete his entire life.
He is also survived by daughter, Lora (Michael) Diffenbacher of Greensboro, N.C.; son, Gaylen Moore of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Emily (Darrin) Warr of Katy, Texas; stepson, William Winkler of Katy, Texas, and stepdaughter, Samantha Winkler of Houston, Texas; sister, Wanda (Robert) King of Jefferson City; brother, Fred (Connie) Moore of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Carter David Diffenbacher and Colbie Diffenbacher; stepgrandchildren, Paxton Hagler and Matthew Warr; and niece, Sheri (Thomas) Elliott of Columbia, along with many other family members and friends.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, April 12, at Parker Funeral Service in Columbia. A gathering for family and friends was be held at the funeral home following the service. Private internment with military honors will be held in Columbia Cemetery at a later date.
