To Be Eligible:
- The legal parents, guardian or custodian of the applicant must be an alumna/us of Belmont University.
- Alumni is defined by the Belmont University Alumni Association’s Constitution as:
- Any individual who has graduated from Belmont University having successfully completed all necessary degree requirements for his/her prospective degree. (Degreed Alumni)
- Any former student who attended Belmont University for at least one semester or quarter and who expresses a desire to be a part of the Association. (Associate Alumni)
- Anyone who is not eligible for degreed or associate membership in the Association, but who, by virtue of their interest in, service to and support of the University and Association is recognized by the Association for membership privileges. (Affiliate Alumni)
- Any individual who has shown unselfish devotion to the interests of the Association and Belmont University. Honorary membership is conferred by a vote of the Board of Directors. (Honorary Alumni)
- The applicant must be a full-time (minimum of 12 hours per semester) undergraduate student.
- The applicant must have successfully completed one full-time (12 hour semester) at Belmont University.
Application Process:
- Application must be completed by Friday, January 22, 2010.
- All applicants will be granted an interview by the Belmont University Alumni Association Board of Directors Scholarship Committee.
- Recipients and applicants must reapply each financial aid period (January) and must reapply for FAFSA each year.
- Applicants must complete the application annually.
Awarding Process:
- Preference will be given to award recipients based on:
- Need (as determined by Student Financial Services)
- GPA
- No preference will be given to “Double Legacies” or parent alumni participation.
- The monies will be distributed evenly to three recipients, on an annual basis.
- 33% of the fund will be the amount awarded per student.
- It will be suggested, but not required, that each award recipient attend one Alumni Board of Directors meeting, in which their parents will also be invited.
